The reason people would object to it is because the only "adolf" most english speaking people have ever known is Hitler. Common name in Germany.

If a guy called Harry Smith commited mass genocide, would people be afraid to call their kid harry?

Nothing is wrong with the name Adolf, it's a german name. Naming someone Adolf Hitler is a different story. Now I'm not german so correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Hitler is a common name. Harry and Smith are both common names. If someone named Harry Smith tried to blow up the world, people would still call their son that name. If their last name was Smith, they may have second thoughts.

It's just like Osama Binladen and Saddam Hussein.
Osama and Saddam are common names, but theres a difference between Osama/Saddam and Osama Binladen/Saddam Hussein. Although I wouldn't be surprised if there are many people called Saddam Hussein, seeing as both Saddam and Hussein are common.

People get mad if you bring up the fact that Barrack Obama's middle name is Hussein. Naming your kid adolf would cause some controversy, but Adolph Hitler would be way out.

million dollars is nothing really. add to the fact IRS would tax around 50% of that. so really 500k for damaging the life of your child. I, personally would do it for the money. After all, knowing me i'd have a pretty detrimental effect on my child regardless, so why not get paid in doing so

Adolf H. XXXXX i think there are far worse names out there. There is a couple named Donald and Daisy Duck or in my town there is a family which name would be "drunkard" translated all other funny names should probably be censored...
